The total combined amounts a student may borrow in Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans may not exceed the annual loan limits or aggregate limits, which are specified in federal regulations. Annual loan limits are determined by class standing (freshman, sophomore, etc.) and dependency status. Students who will be finished with their program during the award year and do not enroll for three trimesters will have their loan prorated.
