Commitment to Learning

CAA is committed to helping students gain skills which will enhance their ability to learn. It achieves this goal in part by offering free individual, group, and online modules on the following topics:

  • Text Anxiety
  • Time Management
  • Study Skills
  • Learning Style Assessment and Study Techniques
  • Nursing Success
  • English Help for Non-Native English Speakers
  • Stress Management

The Center provides three learning style assessments:

  1. Memletics Learning Style Inventory
Take the Memletics Inventory online or in person and use the ADU learning style guide located in the Center to help apply study techniques to a variety of learning styles. Additional information is available by scheduling an appointment for a phone or face-to-face session with a CAA representative.
  2. Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI)
The MBTI is an assessment that helps students identify how they take in information, process that information, and how they organize their life. The MBTI is a starting point to discuss how the students' preferences for approaching life influences the way they learn and study, the way they manage their time, communicate, and work in groups. If a student is interested in taking the MBTI, please contact the CAA for an appointment.
  3. Learning Type Measure (LTM)
For most people, it's difficult to learn something if it's not meaningful to them. Research has found that every student needs to answer four questions when learning something new: Why? How? What? and If? Though all students ask these four questions, everyone is different in the order in which they ask them. The LTM helps students discover which question they need answered first. To take the LTM call the CAA.
