When people say children learn by example, all my positive qualities are attributed to one person. From a young age my family's experiences could closely relate to scenes from a soap opera. But when situations seemed bleak, my mom showed great courage and care to those around her, that then affected me. Even outside her job as being a nurse in the hospital, her personal life also exuded the compassion and faith that would optimize a nurse. Through living these experience and viewing my mom's character, it has led to my decision of becoming a nurse just like her. A decision that expresses my philosophy of healthcare of having a lifestyle that demonstrates Christ's healing touch. And also to live the true meaning of god living through us, that looks beyond a person's appearance and understanding their backstory that comes with their brokenness. The acceptance that everyone is or will become broken is a truth that must me grasped, and I could only know that truth from my own brokenness.
