My view of healthcare and what I wanted to bring to it developed during my two years of seeking help for my ongoing struggle with chronic headaches. It was always an emotional time for me when I would talk about what I was going through with any of the healthcare providers I came in contact with. I always felt like they were hearing me but weren’t really listening. After two years of feeling this way, and no diagnosis, I gave up. I felt that if they cant take the time to understand what Im going through, then how can they fix it? It felt so cold and impersonal during such a vulnerable time for me when I was reaching to them for help. I want to bring the life and love that I was looking for into the healthcare field. I think it is so important for patients to feel your love and care, and feel like they truly matter to you. I feel that it is important to them to feel good and positive even when they are in a tough situation. I will always do my best to be a positive influence in my patients lives and in their experiences with me. Even when i cant help them or they don’t like the answers I’m going to have to give them, I want to be someone who they know tried their hardest for them, believes in them, and made them feel good in the process.
