As a young child I was always picked on more than other kids. It wasn’t hard for kids to find problems with me, I was funny looking and had a weird name. If it had not been for my father, who was the person that showed me some little extra attention, I would not have been strong enough to deal with those rude kids. My father taught me that I could fit in through anything, and what I picked was sports. No matter what has happened even when my dad had a stroke he always wanted to be there for me. He wanted to show his support for my sports. As he laid in his hospital bed the only thing he could ask for were his green flip flops which he always wore to my track meets. My philosophy is to help children and to give them a little extra attention. Without my dad I would not be the person I am today and I can only hope to help another child as my dad has helped me.Updated: April 23, 2013 - 2:25pm - by Yvette Saliba
