As we are young we dream of goals and aspirations of how we want our life to be and who we want to become. No one ever really plans for pain, hurt, or disappointment. I have been through a lot in my personal life and have experienced much brokenness. And even though it may not be health related, I feel blessed because of it, and have become a stronger individual then I ever was. There were people, angels as I like to refer to them, who became a part of my life that helped rebuild hope, faith, strength and trust that I was lacking. I can now look into a mirrior and see a faithful true reflection of being whole again. As healthcare providers we can all be those angels on earth that patients need for support in times of distress and hopelessness. My philosophy of healthcare is to use my knowledge, education, and responsibility to listen, be mindful, and touch others with an air of support and a gentle heart. I can help rebuild their faith when lost, and encourage them to see a light at the end of the tunnel; to ease their uncertainty of where the next steps of life may take them.
