I lost my wife Paula to breast cancer at the age of 41. It changed my life forever. One of our financial advisors asked me to please speak to a young lady about her finances. Jessica had observed the Christ-like care her brother had received at Florida Hospital and determined to become a nurse like those who had given exceptional care to her brother. She had just begun her classes when she was devastated by the news that her husband had lymphoma. My answer to her was, “continue on your dream and we will work together to help you achieve your goal.” My philosophy of healthcare is to assist every student to live their dream to provide Christ-like care and to encourage them to treat each of their patients just a little better than they would desire to be treated.
