My mom was a nurse at a nursing home for about eight years. As a little girl, I would visit the nursing home for different family events that they would have. My mom had this one patient, her name was Paloma. She had a stroke, and could not do much body movement, but she was always smiling when I came to her room to say hi. My mom was always so caring to her, and always so kind when taking care of her during her time at the nursing home. Paloma had a daughter and other family members, who would unfortunately, not visit her during her time in the nursing home. But I feel my mom’s care for her patients made a difference in this lady’s life. My Philosophy of Healthcare – caring for people – can make all the difference to the patient. Being in the healthcare field, kindness is always a major role in my philosophy, as well.Updated: January 10, 2011 - 2:57pm - by Yvette Saliba
