"Often times, we find ourselves lost in what seems like an abyss of darkness, reaching for an invisible rope and barely holding on to the humanity we think we have. We find ourselves at a loss for words and utterly repulsed by the person reflected in the mirror. We are broken. Our many experiences latch on to our heart, mind, and soul dragging us further away from our destination. In these cases, it is extremely difficult to come back to reality and look inward at the person God created us to be; innocent. But when we are able to look back at our life’s journey so far, we discover that those obstacles in our rearview mirror were nothing but speed bumps. We can take those speed bumps and transform the knowledge into a message to share with others. Having an absolute understanding of this concept is priceless. Only after latching on to this concept will we begin to see past others brokenness and faults. Only then can we disregard what others have done, been, and where they’ve come from and see them as innocent; the way God created them. Now that is a philosophy I would like to live by. Not only in my healthcare profession, but also in my everyday life. We are all innocent."Updated: April 12, 2011 - 3:15pm - by Yvette Saliba
