My Philosophy of Health Care is based on the essential qualities of a good health care worker. As a health care worker, I must care about others and apply my skills and knowledge to decrease suffering and increase wellbeing. I will respect the wishes of the patient as well as of those who supervise me. I will be honest at all times, respect the privacy of others, and be loyal to my profession and those who are under my care. I will display excellent communications skills, which include listening as much as speaking. I will have empathy for the pain and suffering of my patients, providing comfort and compassion. I will strive to understand the feelings and needs of others, and address problems as or before they arise. Finally, I will work hard to keep my skills up to date, as well as continue to acquire new skills. I will recognize that it is important to accept that I do not know it all, and be willing to learn more, always.
