Determining what my philosophy of healthcare is was a difficult task for me. I know that as a healthcare provider, I want to provide my patients with the best care possible. In doing this, I want to have patience, be understanding of my patients, and show my patients that I care. The best way to exhibit these virtues is through my actions. Allowing a senior adult the extra five minutes they need to get out of their bed, listening to their worries and concerns in reference to a procedure, and going to get them extra blankets are examples of showing my most important virtues to my patients. I suppose that as time goes by and I venture more into the healthcare setting, I will come to understand more of what my philosophy of healthcare will be. Although I have no concrete philosophy of healthcare, I know that by exhibiting patience, understanding and care, that my patients will receive the best care possible.
