Week of Prayer 2011

Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) held its annual Week of Prayer celebration the week of March 28-April 1, 2011. Due to unseasonably rainy weather all week, the celebration was held in the Student Lounge where it was standing room only all week. This year’s theme for Week of Prayer was “Tension is Good.” FHCHS chaplains Reynold Acosta and Bill Crofton assembled an eclectic mix of speakers that ranged from Nursing student, Eden Henry, to Florida Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, Brian Paradis. Each day’s speaker would examine personal and spiritual growth that can come with the “tension” that occurs in one’s life.

A collection of FHCHS students showcased their musical talents by leading each day’s celebration with song. The singing was so popular that students would stay in the Student Lounge long after the meeting was over to continue to sing and praise God.

“It was perfect timing,” said Health and Biomedical Sciences student, Andrea Gutierrez. “It was appropriate because it helped to put things into perspective as we head into finals in a couple of weeks.”

Week of Prayer was a highly successful event that was made possible because of the Campus Chaplains and their hard-working team of student leaders.
