All students are required to have a laptop that meets the Adventist University of Health Sciences specifications (see the Software and Hardware Requirements section in the Academic Bulletin). Students may purchase a laptop from the University or bring their own if they meet the standards. Students should contact their program of interest for more information. Financial aid may be available to cover the cost of purchasing a new computer.
Software and Hardware Requirements
Adventist University's computers use the Microsoft Windows-based operating system. Students are required to submit all work in a format compatible to Microsoft Office 2007.
Requirements
The Adventist University campus offers an open wireless environment. To use the Internet, your computer should be able to access an 802.11 g/n wireless network, have the latest version of FLASH and JAVA installed, and have a current and updated version of antivirus software installed.
Laptop/Mobile Device Policy
The use of laptops/mobile devices in the classroom is strictly for learning activities related to the class in session. Instructors have the prerogative to ask that all electronic devices be turned off. Students may bring laptops to all classes as long as they abide by this policy.
