Placement Testing and Remedial Courses

Time, Date, and Location

  • All Placement Testing will be conducted in CC Bldg. Rm. 252 January 4, 2007
  • 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 a.m.
  • If the posted time is not convenient, call the Student Success Center at 407 (303) 7747 ext. 6413 to schedule an additional testing time.

BIOL 101 Anatomy and Physiology I

  • You will need to register for BIOL 091: Intro to Anatomy and Physiology if:
    • Your highest ACT composite score is below 19 OR
    • You do not have college-level credit for Anatomy and Physiology I with a grade of C or higher

ENGL 101 English Composition I

  • English Composition I Screening Exam, You need to take this exam if:
    • Your highest score on the ACT is below 19 on the English portion of the ACT exam OR
    • Your SAT overall score is lower than 875 OR
    • You do not have college level credit for English Comp I with a grade of C or higher.

The Exam: Students will be asked to write a 250-300-word paragraph using correct grammar, spelling and sentence structure. Topics will include familiar themes. Students may not use a dictionary or thesaurus during the exam. The exam will be used to determine placement in ENGL 091, English Review; or ENGL 101, English Composition I.

MATH 101 Intermediate Algebra, MATH 103 Survey of Math, MATH 120 College Algebra

  • Math Screening Exam, You need to take this exam if:
    • Your highest score on the ACT is below 16 on the Math portion of the ACT exam
    • SAT composite is lower than 875
    • No prior College Algebra credit with a grade of C or higher.
  • No Exam required if:
    • ACT score is between 16-19 on the Math portion of the ACT exam
    • Students must register for MATH 101: Intermediate Algebra.

Exempt from Math Exam:

  • Nursing Program applicants are exempt from taking the Math screening exam if they register for MATH 103

The Exam: The exam will be used to determine placement in MATH 091, Introduction to Algebra; MATH 101, Intermediate Algebra; or MATH 120, College Algebra.
