Blended learning includes content and activities delivered in a web-based format, while other content and activities are offered in a classroom setting. The blended course promotes learning that is interactive and engaging for students in the classroom, but also allows them the autonomy to learn at their own pace outside the classroom. In the blended format, a portion of the course activities will be completed on campus or through synchronous interactive video, to provide real-time contact with course instructors. Course activities may include, but are not limited to, lecture content, case scenarios, chats or discussions, exams, and clinical involvement. Real-time interactions may occur via technological interactives such as Polycom, Wimba or Skype.

Celebrate Nursing 2008

“Nursing is such a rewarding experience, I just cannot imagine doing anything else,” states a second-year nursing student. It might come as a surprise to some that a person who devotes his or her career to helping others feels that they are the lucky one. “I guess we get so much because we give so much,” she observes. To those of us who have been in nursing for any length of time, that imperative still holds true.

About Us

Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU) is a Seventh-day Adventist institution that specializes in healthcare education. Its location next to Florida Hospital near downtown Orlando gives students access to unparalleled clinical opportunities in physicians' offices, imaging centers, rehabilitation clinics, and Florida Hospital's own world-class facilities.

The University's guiding philosophy, Healthcare as Ministry, is based on the idea that true wellness is not achieved through medical care alone, but through healing relationships that speak to peoples' minds, bodies, and souls. This philosophy underpins each course of our associate, bachelor's, master's, and online programs.
