- Why do I need to take the ACT?

- Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) uses the ACT to evaluate prospective student achievement for appropriate class placement.
- An ACT score is required for admission to FHCHS professional programs.
- How do I register to take the ACT at FHCHS?

- Submit a FHCHS College application before you register to take the ACT.
- Select your ACT testing date.
- Purchase your ACT test permit ($35.00) from the Financial Services Office (407) 303-1631.
- Upon purchasing your test permit, you will receive an ACT packet.
- Test Preparation

- Web Course—A one-month preparation course is available online once you have paid for the ACT.
- ACT website—Practice examinations can be accessed at: http://www.actstudent.org/testprep/index.html
- ACT Exam Books— Books to help you prepare for the ACT are available at the FHCHS Library and Bookstore, as well as public libraries and bookstores.
- What should I do the day of the ACT?

- Park at least 45 minutes prior to the test in either student parking at Calvary Assembly Church or the King Street Parking Garage (there is a fee to park in the garage).
- Follow signs on campus to the testing location.
- Bring test permit, a legal picture ID with a signature, an approved calculator, and two #2 pencils.
- Score Facts

- Scores will be available 10 days after testing.
- FHCHS records your highest score from each section for retake tests.
- Once you have taken the ACT, you must wait 60 days before you can retake it.
- Scores received from FHCHS tests cannot be transferred to other institutions or to the state of Florida for Bright Futures qualifications.
- Scores received from National tests are transferable to other institutions and can be used for Bright Futures qualifications.
