What happens next?

  1. You will receive a Federal Student Aid Report (SAR). The report will ask you to review the information for accuracy and make corrections if necessary. It will also notify you if you have been selected for verification and that you will need to supply additional information to the schools financial aid office.
  2. FHCHS will also receive this information electronically if you listed our school code when you completed the FAFSA.
  3. FHCHS will send you a missing document letter for any documents that are needed to complete your file for awarding and/or disbursing of financial aid.
  4. FHCHS will send you a financial aid notification letter listing your approximate cost for the year, your eligibility for grants, scholarships and loans. You are asked to sign and return the letter. You can also tell us how much you want to borrow in a loan for the year.

When will I receive the money?

You will be able to use your grants, scholarships and loans to pay for your tuition and fees at registration. If the amount of your aid is greater than your tuition and fees, you will be able to charge your books at the bookstore.

If you register for hours different than what your award was based on, your financial aid may have to be adjusted. Most aid programs require at least half-time status, and a few require full-time status.

Financial aid for the semester is based on the number of credits you are registered for at the end of the drop/add period. At that time, financial aid will be credited to your account if your file is complete. If a credit occurs after the aid has been disbursed onto your account, the school will send you a letter telling you the aid that has been posted and that the check will be available at the Business Office.
