Master of Healthcare Administration

The Master of Healthcare Administration is a two-year program that develops leaders who possess the values, knowledge, and skills needed to work in a highly-competitive, market-driven environment. Students will learn about the management of healthcare from experienced administrators. They will also learn to conceptualize, analyze, and apply vital concepts when dealing with multifaceted healthcare administrative issues. All classes are offered in the evening to accommodate the working professional.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the healthcare administration program must:
  1. Submit an application online and nonrefundable $100 fee.
  2. Present evidence of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  3. Present current official transcripts from all undergraduate and/or graduate institutions attended. (Transcripts will be considered official only when received directly from the institution, not if hand-delivered by the applicant or faxed by the institution attended. Failure to disclose all colleges previously attended could result in denial or dismissal.)
  4. Present official transcripts for each College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Advanced Placement (AP), and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) examination taken if you would like them to be considered for fulfillment of prerequisite requirements.
  5. Present a minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. (Admission GPAs will be calculated based on credits and grades from regionally accredited institutions only.)
  6. Present an official copy of a satisfactory score on the GRE or GMAT taken within the past five years. GRE or GMAT scores on college transcripts are also acceptable.
  7. Present an updated resume. Two years of professional experience in healthcare are preferred. Applicants with fewer than two years who are admitted to the program will be required to complete a three-credit residency during their final trimester. Provide an essay or goal statement outlining career goals, reasons for choosing to attend a faith-based institution, and reasons for specifically choosing Florida Hospital College.
  8. Provide three recommendations using FHCHS forms: two professional and one academic.
  9. Present proof that the following undergraduate courses have been completed either as part of an undergraduate program or taken post-baccalaureate, but prior to admission to the MHA program:
    1. Accounting I
    2. Finance
    3. Microeconomics
    4. Macroeconomics
    5. Elementary Statistics
  10. Successfully complete a personal interview process. (Following an initial application screening, some applicants will be invited to campus for a personal interview.)

Keep in mind that due to the competitive nature of the admission process, meeting the minimum standards for admission does not guarantee acceptance to a program.
