The purpose of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Program is to prepare registered nurses to provide wholistic healthcare to individuals, families, and communities. A graduate from this program is prepared to use theory and research-based knowledge as a designer, coordinator, and manager of wholistic healthcare in diverse settings. The program is grounded in Christian principles and integrated with courses from the arts and sciences that enrich the program of study and contribute to the development of a broader worldview of nursing. The program provides the graduate with the ability to enhance professional growth, facilitate career mobility, and have a foundation for graduate work.
This program provides quality instruction through a multi-dimensional distance-learning environment allowing students to further their education while maintaining their current professional careers. Registered Nurses (RNs) who have successfully completed the FHCHS Associate Degree Program or those who have an Associate degree in nursing from a regionally-accredited program may progress into the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Program. International graduates and RNs who have a diploma in nursing are evaluated on an individual basis.
Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences has chosen to partner with Compass Knowledge Group in the delivery of the distance education Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program. Students participate in a virtual community of learners and are mentored via online communication channels. The course instructor and facilitator monitor student success. Students have up to five years to complete the program.
