High School Students From a Non-Regionally Accredited School or Home-Schooled Students

Students will be considered for regular College admission status when they:

  1. Submit an application
    1. Paperwork received without an application on file will not be processed.
  2. Present evidence of one of the following:
    1. Official passing scores on the GED test:
      1. 1988 Series: a minimum score of 50 on each section of the test with an overall average score of 60 (for a minimum total score of 250).
      2. 2002 Series: a minimum score of 410 on each section of the test with an overall average score of 500 (for a minimum total score of 2500).
      3. Submit an official GED transcript.
    2. A minimum 2.50 GPA on 12 hours of college-level academic work from a regionally accredited college.
      1. Present evidence of graduation with a standard high school diploma (minimum) and submit final official transcript with graduation date and GPA or official passing GED scores.
      2. Applicants with 12 or more college-level credits from a regionally accredited college are exempt from the minimum high school GPA requirement. Only the cumulative college GPA will be used for admissions purposes.
    3. Present evidence of graduation with a standard high school diploma (minimum) with a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.50 and submit final official transcript with graduation date and GPA. Home-schooled students are not eligible for this option.
      1. Submit official passing American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores. The ACT and/or SAT scores will be used for admissions purposes as well as advising and placement.
      2. A minimum composite score of 19 ACT.
      3. A minimum combined SAT score of 875 (Math and Comprehensive Reading subtests).
  3. Submit official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges attended.
  4. Submit official ACT or SAT scores. Scores will be used for placement and advising and not to determine admission status. Applicants with 24 or more college-level credits from a regionally accredited college are exempt from taking the ACT or SAT.
  5. Submit three recommendations on FHCHS recommendation forms.

A transcript is considered official when stamped with the official school seal, signed by the appropriate school official, and received in a sealed envelope. Recommendation forms, official transcripts, and career essays received with a FHCHS application, will be retained for one year while applications received without an official transcript(s), career essays and recommendation forms will be retained for six months.
