The general degree requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree are as follows:
- Refer to individual department sections in this Bulletin for specific requirements.
- A minimum of 37 upper division credits, to include at least 28 upper division hours in the major.
- A minimum of 86 hours earned at FHCHS for those in a four-year degree program. A minimum of 36 hours earned at FHCHS for those entering a baccalaureate completion program.
- Completion of a major with a cumulative grade point average as required by each program, and completion of cognate, general education, and elective courses to satisfy the total credit requirements for graduation. Courses completed with grades lower than a “C” (2.00) will not be applied toward a major.
- Meet the specific requirements of each major as outlined in the departmental sections of this Bulletin.
- Students receiving a bachelor’s completion degree (such as the Radiologic Sciences or Nursing) must complete 30 hours of community service and/or service learning. Students in the four-year Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program must complete 60 hours of community service and/or service learning. Community service and service learning projects and hours must be approved and validated by the College Chaplain. Service learning is part of the curriculum in selected courses and is validated by the teachers of those courses and by the department in which those courses are taught.
