Graduate course load is expressed in trimester credits. A trimester credit represents one 55-minute class or equivalent per week. Laboratory courses are calculated at a 3:1 ratio, with three 55-minute periods of lab time each week making up one trimester credit. Clinical courses are measured with eight hour periods of clinical time each week making up one trimester credit (8:1 ratio). Full time graduate students are defined as those who register for eight or more credits per trimester. A graduate student may not be concurrently registered at another college or university and ADU without permission from the Department Chair and Senior Vice President for Academic Administration.
