Qualified students should request note-taker services through the Office for Students with Disabilities one week prior to the semester. After the instructor makes the first note-taker announcement in class and if no one expresses interest, the student should consider informing the Office for Students with Disabilities that there is difficulty finding note-taking assistance.
Students using note-taker services will agree to the following:
- Attend class as scheduled.
- Arrange a method of communication (for example, e-mail or telephone) with note-taker.
- Inform Office for Students with Disabilities if notes are inadequate.
- Provide note-taker with carbonless paper (available in Student Success).
Students using note-takers should also understand that the note-taker is responsible for note-taking in class only. The note-taker is not to assist with out-of-class assignments, homework, or alternative testing arrangements.
