Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) celebrated its 2010 Fall Commencement on December 9, 2010, at Calvary Assembly of God located in Winter Park, Florida. The ceremony conferred Associate's and Bachelor's degrees for 284 graduate completing their respective programs of study.
Dr. Ron C. Smith, Executive Secretary for the Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, was invited to be the evening's speaker. His address, titled "The Use of Power, God's Way," was a wonderful mix of amusing stories about his past blended with insightful advice for the graduates to use their knowledge in service for God.
After all the graduates received their diplomas, Dr. David Greenlaw, FHCHS President, spoke briefly to remind the graduates that education is a life-long commitment to learning. "Be responsible for your professions. Increase the body of knowledge far beyond what you have already learned. Give back to society, and make society a better place to live," was Dr. Greenlaw's charge.
Following the President's Charge, the graduates were formally welcomed to the Alumni Association.
Academic departments conferring degrees at the Fall Commencement included Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health & Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, and Radiologic Sciences.
