The ongoing story of Jessica and her family demonstrate that nurture is alive and well in the Financial Services Office of Florida Hospital College.

Forums, fellowship, and friends highlighted the weekend of March 21-23, 2008, for more than 30 Adventist college and universities professionals. The group convened on the Florida Hospital College campus to participate in meetings of the Adventist Association of Collegiate Admissions Officers and Registrars (AACAOR).

Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) is committed to providing quality education to its students. A significant part of the College’s founding mission was to offer affordable Seventh-day Adventist education, allowing its students to graduate with minimal debt. However, some students still face tremendous financial obstacles to realize their dream of a Christian education.

Kristie Johnston Poppo dreamed of becoming a nurse since she discovered the wonders of a plastic stethoscope and the way it felt to make someone feel better. At an early age, she played dress-up with a uniform and a nurse’s cap. Kristie’s mom, Kathy Johnston, shared her daughter’s love for the healing profession. Both women have realized their dreams and are now experienced healthcare professionals working at Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs, Florida—Kathy in labor and delivery, and Kristie in the nursery.
