Association Updates

Mentor Program

In September 2011, the Mentor Program will start providing mentors for the Nurse Anesthesia Program. All other programs will start in January 2011.

Tropical-themed homecoming a success

More than 100 people attended the Alumni Association homecoming banquet at the Ness Café on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Palm trees, beach sand, surf boards, and a tiki hut all contributed to the tropical luau atmosphere. Guests enjoyed Polynesian cuisine and music performances by Ohana Luau Productions.

They also heard from Donna Manchery, '10, and mentee Paulette Dussault, '12, who shared how their experiences in the Alumni Mentor Program enriched their lives and passion for nursing.

The celebration continued at an Orlando Magic home game a few days later.

Where Are They Now?

Jenny Ousley, '10, was accepted to Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn.

Jackie Johnson, '09, graduated from Benedictine University with a Master of Nursing in August 2011. She says, "The program at FHCHS prepared me for the MSN program in many aspects of online learning and nursing science."

Debbie Fine, '10, recently passed the CCRN exam and was accepted into the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Southern Adventist University. She will begin her studies there fall 2011.
