An Award Given—A Dream Fulfilled
Ever since she was a little girl, Susan Boyd has dreamed of becoming a nurse. Imagine her delight when she learned that the Florida Nursing Student Association (FNSA) had chosen her for their Leadership Award for FNSA District 8.
Life Lessons and New Transitions for Graduates
Some spent years, some shed blood, sweat, and tears, all gathered memories, and came together for a common purpose–GRADUATION.
The commencement address was given by Daniel Devine, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Compass Knowledge Group. Devine, an entrepreneur, knows what constitutes an effective customer service organization. Nevertheless, he was impressed with the care and treatment his father received during a stay at Florida Hospital. Devine entitled his remarks "Thank You in Advance" and he thanked the graduates for their future service. "You will impact so many lives in so many ways, both large and small, in the years to come," commented Devine.
Florida Hospital College and Orlando Health Host the 2009 FOTA Conference
Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences welcomed occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and students from across the state for the annual Florida Occupational Therapy Association Conference (FOTA.) More than 300 participants converged on the College campus while Reconnecting Art & Science with Occupational Therapy (this year’s theme.) FOTA is a state-wide organization that supports education, provides a vehicle for therapists and students to network, and encourages research in the field.
